64 Hexagrams and the Genetic Code – A Binary System of Complementary Opposites

The Gene Keys draw direct inspiration from the I Ching, while adding a profound bio-spiritual layer: they connect the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching with the genetic code embedded in our DNA.

The genetic code of DNA and RNA also follows a binary logic, expressed through 64 codons. Each codon is a sequence of three bases selected from four letters—A, U, C, and G—that together encode all the instructions for building the human body:

  • 60 codons code for 20 amino acids,
  • 1 codon (AUG) signals the start of translation,
  • 3 codons (UAG, UGA, UAA) mark the stop signals.

Just like the I Ching, genetics builds a symbolic system from simple elements—yet from this simplicity arises a language of astonishing richness and complexity.

The Gene Keys aim to illuminate this hidden code—not only in our biology, but also in our consciousness. They offer a gateway where science and spirit converge, showing how the structures of life mirror their deeper meaning, inviting us to gaze inward, as though into a mirror, through the very code that shapes who we are.
