היא כלי טיפולי עוצמתי החושף את הכוחות הנסתרים הפועלים במערכת המשפחתית כדי לאפשר שינוי ושחרור ממטענים רגשיים המשפיעים על חיינו.
לרוב - הכאב , הקונפליקט או הדפוס לא התחיל בנו, אלא קיבלנו אותו ב"ירושה".

כאשר אנו מתבוננים בעבר דרך עיני ההווה,
 מתוך נוכחות מלאה ואי-שיפוטיות, 
נפתחת האפשרות לריפוי עמוק – 
אישי, משפחתי ובין-דורי.
"גופינו הינו מערכת שלמה של יחסים ואפשרויות שמהדהדים את ההיסטוריה, ההווה והעתיד שלנו ושל משפחתנו. הוא מכיל קונסטלציות מרובות של יחסי גומלין בין דמויות וסיפורים שמקבלים ביטוי בחיי היום-יום".

 והחזרת הסדר על כנו 
כדי שזרימת החיים תמשיך
 דרך העבודה הקונסטלטיבית, אנו זוכים לראות את עצמנו ואת יחסינו באור חדש, לקבל תובנות עמוקות ולפתוח אפשרויות חדשות לריפוי והתפתחות.
בעבודה הקונסטלטיבית "מתירים פלונטרים" :
 המונחה מביא בעיה כלשהי, קונפליקט, יחסים אל המרחב בכל נושא שהוא ועל ידי הנחת ייצוגים ויזואליים [בובות, בדים חפצים] או דרך בחירת מנחים שייצגו את הדמויות השונות, אנו חווים באופן תחושתי את הקשרים ביניהם, את הדינמיקה שבין הדמויות, ואת ההשפעות הלא מודעות שעשויות לנהל אותנו.

  • במקום להיאבק – להבין. 
     במקום לשחזר – לבחור. 
     במקום לשאת – להשתחרר.
     כאשר הסדרים הפנימיים חוזרים למקומם, החיים יכולים לזרום בחופשיות מתוך כוח, אהבה ושייכות.

עיקרון מרכזי בגישה -  לראות את כל מה שהיה, גם אם כואב, גם אם נשכח.
לדוגמה: אשה שחיה בתחושת חוסר שייכות - התגלה שנולדה לאחר לידה שקטה של אחות שלא הוזכרה במשפחה, סובלת מתחושת חוסר מקום. כשניתן מקום סמלי לאחות, תחושת החיים שלה מתייצבת.

Properties

Belonging – Everyone belongs, even if they have been excluded, silenced, or disappeared.

Example: An uncle with a mental illness who is excluded from the family unconsciously influences patterns of detachment in the grandchildren. When his name is mentioned and he is given recognition, the next generation's sense of belonging is stabilized.

The orders of love – giving everyone their rightful place in the system, according to the order of arrival, origin, and relationship.

Example: A mother who was forced to "take care" of her mother as a child has difficulty allowing her daughter to be a child. By recognizing that she herself should not have borne her mother, it is possible to repair the order and transmit flowing, healthy love.

Balance between receiving and giving – understanding what is given and what has been received, and accepting the movement of life as it is.

Example: A man who feels a heavy burden towards his parents learns to see what he received from them – even if it was incomplete – and begins to move forward with his life with greater ease.

The past does not disappear.
